Review of Meet the Parents (2000) by Andrew D — 08 Aug 2010
The whole plot of Ben Stiller putting up with De Niro's unbearable character kind of ruined the movie for me. Because of that, the movie was more tedious than funny for me.
Dont get me wrong, there are scenes that are funny. But De Niro's character alienated me so much that the movie would have been awesome if his character was killed.
But, but Robert de Niro was so believable that he should have won an Oscar for his performance. To me, that is how good he was in the movie.
The movie is more of an awareness film to never be or act like Ben Stiller's character. In other words, no one in real life would have put up with Robert de Niro's character.
