Review of Meet the Feebles (1989) by Caleb M — 01 Nov 2009
Cheerfully offensive and grotesque, Meet the Feebles plays like a twisted behind-the-scenes tale of a popular variety, except in a world populated by muppet-like creatures. The plot is thin, characters painted even thinner, and Jackson seems more concerned with throwing as much profane absurdities on screen as possible than getting laughs, but in the end the sheer magnitude of (sometimes really inventive) insanity makes Meet the Feebles funny and memorable.
Who the hell would think to let this guy direct Lord of the Rings? It paid off though.
