Review of Meet the Blacks (2016) by Hayden H — 29 Mar 2016
I saw the trailer thinking this was gonna be a good "The Purge" parody. Well, I did till I saw the first 15 mins of the actual movie. Lead by Mike Epps, who is good comedian, but this does not raise his stock in fact, it lowers it right down to Marlon Wayne's level. If you have seen 50 Shades of Black, you know what exactly what I mean.
This film that is about a black family moving to Beverly Hills after winning it big and is confronted but the most stereotypical white people I have ever that wasn't on the Menica Show. But what the movie tries to do to mix it up is to make the neighborhood go through the Purge which allows them to go ape$h!t on others. But that isn't even done right. Not only does it make fun of white people, this makes fun of black, Mexican, and I dare say Asian as well. The jokes remind me of an Afam Sandler comedy with the crudeness Will Ferrell at times but the problem is none of them are funny enough or original to keep your attention. "D" is my final grade.
This.
