Review of Meet Dave (2008) by Michael K — 30 Jul 2009
Whoever thought "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" meets "Coming to America" was a good idea was sadly mistaken. The movie might have actually been a smash hit if it were released in the 80s. Only thing is these days, people are just not that easily impressed. The film is awkward and boring with ridiculous product placement and one funny moment.
A group of aliens crash land on earth in search of a missing energy rock. Oh, and did I mention the aliens are actually little people controlling a big person in the shape of their captain? But anyway, as they spend time on earth they start being influenced by earthly culture which brings strain to their existence.
Yes, it's terrible but it's still worth watching if you're not too busy watching something better. Kids might like this one. It's slow moving with good ol' fashioned clean alien family humor.
