Review of Meet Dave (2008) by David F — 08 May 2009
Not to be an apologist for movies that most consider crappy, but if the critics and/or public remark that this movie "didn't have a real story" (and than gravitate towards either I Am Legend or Ingmar Bergman's silence trilogy as if they do have real stories) than I must play the role.
Meet Dave is a lot of fun with genuine humor, sentiment, and although firmly predictable, uses its predictablity to express a warm attitude towards humanity not unlike that of Capra. This movie doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it does turn nicely.
