Although Meet Dave is not much, I actually liked it. Sure, it's filled with a lot of jokes that miss the mark, but when you think about it, it has a creative concept. It's not as funny as Nutty Professor, Bowfinger, or the first Dr.

Dolittle, but I can't help liking it. My biggest problem was with Elizabeth Banks' character... hot as she was, she was WAAAAAAY too accepting of Dave's alien behavior. Also, it's predictable and there's an obvious gay caricature which grated on my nerves.

I know Eddie Murphy is kind of seen as a hack nowadays with dreck like Imagine That and Daddy Day Care, but I'd argue that Meet Dave not the trainwreck everyone thinks it is.
