Remember when Eddie Murphy was funny? Well watching movies like this make you forget. The jokes all fail, the premise is stupid, and the characters are bland. It's like how people forget that Robin Williams was a comedian but being in so many unfunny comedies can be distracting to your talent.
This movie is a perfect example of that.
