Review of Meet Bill (2007) by Miklos P — 10 Aug 2008
I don't know how these people get the money and the green light to go ahead and make a glorified multi-million dollar STUDENT FILM. That's what this was: a student film with some names in it shot as a H'wood type glossy comedy. Bad, unfunny writing and substandard execution. The whole time I'm watching this flick I'm wondering with my jaws dropped how these people get away with this? Oh, wait, I know the guy directing this is a "big time" producer in Hollyweird, I guess they got the go ahead because somehow they managed to convince Aaron Eckhardt and Jessica Alba to do it. Maybe the actors thought if they don't do this film for this first-time director they will not get subsequent jobs from him as a Producer. True, this is how it works in H'wood. I also read that Lindsey Lohan was actually smart enough to drop out of this film as she didn't feel comfortable with the director. This time Lindsey: good call.
It may have been some thing Aaron E. saw in the script that made him think he wants to do this. Maybe he was threatened. Instead in the final analysis this just turned out to be one bad, tedious flick. A substandard fare with bad execution, pathetically straining to be funny. A complete waste of your time.
