Review of Meet Bill (2007) by Kenny O — 18 Feb 2009
I had high hopes for this movie opening with a very funny voice over/mirror critique from star Aaron Eckhart. What followed was, and I hate to fall in the same category on my reviews, was the same old hat business I have been utterly repulsed by the last three hundred movies or so I have so unfortunately subjected myself to. Bill, is of course unhappy with his station in life, and of course it takes the free wheelin ways of a youngling (Logan Lerman) he's mentoring to teach Bill what truly matters, thus making the mentor... wait for it... The Mente... Is that a word? I'll spell check it.
From that point on it is one embarrassing moment after another as Bill lives up to his station in life before finally branching out with the help of his little friend. You see, it takes a kid to show and adult how to live. Original? No. Worth Watching? No. Uninspired? Yes. You'd be better off watching this scenario done to perfection on screen in About a Boy with Hugh Grantâ?¦ Incidentally Mente is not a word.
