Review of Meek's Cutoff (2011) by Johnny B — 21 Oct 2011
Meek's Cutoff is an intense, well acted, beautifully shot, and realistic character-study western (though a western in a loose sense). Surprisingly impressive was Bruce Greenwood, who had the best work I've ever seen from him.
It's deliberately paced, to be sure, with probably an over abundance of long wide-angle shots, but it still remains tense until the end.
