Review of Meek's Cutoff (2011) by Ross L — 01 Feb 2012
While incredibly slow, the viewer feels like they are actually on the trail with these settlers. It's more of an experience -- an experience of what it really was like for pioneers to venture to into the west, trusting only (possibly inexperienced) guides with little knowledge of the frontier and the American Indians who lived there.
While I wish the ending were more clear, it added to the horror story effect.
