Review of Medicine for Melancholy (2009) by Marybeth F — 19 Dec 2009
There is absolutely nothing like this film. Barry Jenkins writes and directs a film that asks serious questions about race and relationships. Wyatt Cenac and Tracey Heggins are compelling enough to keep interest through the entire feature.
Cenac's Micah comes off as preachy, but intentionally so. These two are spot on in a film masterfully shot with subject matter extremely relevant today. This movie is an inspiration and deserves all the accolades it has received.
