This is a really happy movie. It should pick up any dark mood. I found the characters quite charming overall. It certainly was cheesy but in the right mood that is the perfect answer. All of the people are funny and likable. The outcasts are easy to relate to. Not an inspiring movie and that is actually fine by me!
In one word: Cheerful.
