Review of Mean Streets (1973) by Sam R — 18 Aug 2008
One of SCorcese's earliest works and a true inspiration for young filmakers. Itfollows a group of small time New Tork gangsters who all have their own ways of dealing with the lives they lead. Keitel's performance is spellbinding but DeNiro's selfish and mildly deranged character is always a screen filler even if Keitel's has more substance to him.
A true work of a great director.
