Review of Mean Streets (1973) by James S — 17 Nov 2015
Probably more epic by historical standards, but to a 'the sopranos' loving fan in 2015, it's a pretty tame and subtle movie. Great performance from di Niro, who I have never ever seen play a character like that, and he does it so well.
Not the Robert di Niro I know. Apparently was one of the first movies to successfully integrate rock music, showing it's an old classic and probably deserves more love than I am willing to give. As a fan of the godfather, goodfellas and the sopranos, this movie doesn't do much for me.
