A triumph of personal filmmaking and one of the great crime drama films. Brilliantly shot, directed, staged, written and acted. There is not one directing flaw here- and this is the movie that put Martin Scorsese on the map and still remains today as one of his greatest films.
This movie must be studied by all aspiring filmmakers, as it is the ultimate guide of learning how to make a dramatic film. A masterpiece from a genius storyteller and filmmaker who is the best living filmmaker today and has been for the last 20-30 years along with 3 other filmmakers.
