Review of Mean Streets (1973) by Ian M — 09 Aug 2010
I can't imagine what it must have been like to see this back in 1973, not knowing how directly it would shape the next 30 years of pop culture. Its energy is still startlingly fresh and modern, and its integration of editing, camerawork and pop soundtrack is pure cinema.
And obviously, Keitel and De Niro are explosive together.
