Review of Mean Streets (1973) by Ki E — 01 Jul 2014
Scorsese needed a magnetic actor for a small role that would still permeate the rest of the film, so Brian De Palma, who had worked with De Niro three times before, said "this is your guy". This is where one of the greatest actor-director collaborations began and can nitpick that? It's a film that I love and actually saw in the theater over 30 times, over 100 all in all.
Once it grabs you then you have been gotten. The best use of pop music as soundtrack, including George Lucas' strangely similar "American Graffiti". Think about it.
