Review of Mean Streets (1973) by Anthony A — 10 Mar 2013
Mean Street flows with an authentic feeling of street life and friendship. Scorsese escalates the tone perfectly from a lighter beginning to the emotional climax. Scorsese's one fault is a use of sound that comes off as distracting and irritating.
DeNiro's early performance shows off a stunning amount of wildcard charisma.
