Review of Mean Girls 2 (2011) by Michelle V — 01 Mar 2011
The only 3 actors I recognized here were Jennifer Stone, Tim Meadows and Diego Boneta (Gonzales). The rest is TOTALLY NEW for me. But yes, nothing like the 1st one (with the REAL AWESOME CAST). No offence made.
Plot: The theme here is somehow different, but has the same purpose. Anti-bullying vs. Bullies called MEAN GIRLS. What I loved of this story-telling, is that somehow they made it look like it is. I mean, bullies should go to jail or do some community services for their crimes to inocent people. I agree totally with that. Yes, we can forgive their past (maybe is parent's fault), but hey, even TV shows and movies have the wrong reason to make kids look like adults or idiots. Sorry, but truth should be told! Stars for that.
Acting: I must admit that I'm not a follower on Diego's career, but I remember his character in REBELDE as Rocco and his musician career (since I remember he wanted to be a singer and dedicate his life on that), but since I saw him here, I can guess that in the music industry, is not going that well. But by the way, he nailed the role here. Good job! Jennifer as Abby was incredible and funny (but if she want's acting in a serious way, she should change roles). Tim was also great as always. The rest of the cast was great too, but sometimes I was missing the real MEAN GIRLS with their real attitude (the one I HATE). Stars for the effort.
Music: Did not like it that much as in the first movie. Sorry girls, but TRIX is for kids XD No stars (aww).
To end this review, 3 stars of 5. The message is the same as in the first film, only with a difference: BULLIES GO TO JAIL! YEAH!!! DO COMMUNITY SERVICES!!!! Now I feel better LOL Enjoy and HASTA LA PROXIMA AMIGOS/AS!!! CHAO!!!
