What should have been a tense, dark examination of the fallout from a stupid teenage prank unfortunately becomes a tedious and fatally slow mood piece, lacking the excitement of Deliverance or the genuine sentiment of Stand By Me.
The variable performances and ad hoc photography are another failing. A missed opportunity.
