Review of Meadowland (2015) by Facebook U — 16 Feb 2016
Despite solid performances by an excellent cast, the movie never really hits its stride. The film's basic premise -- a young married couple's attempts at coping with the disappearance of their child -- leads the protagonists to engage in an array of erratic and risky behavior, which, when taken collectively, verges on unbelievable if not ludicrous.
Passing off a meandering narrative as sublime art just doesn't work here, no matter how good the acting and cinematography are.
