Review of Mea Maxima Culpa: Silence in the House of God (2012) by Matthew N — 25 Mar 2013
Riveting subject: disgusting crimes, and an even more deplorable response by the Vatican. To think that popes have been complicit since the 1800s in the formation of a policy of silence regarding child sex abuse by priests is outrageous.
And the church wonders why no one sends their children to parochial schools and centers. Thanks to the scandal, no parents today consider sending their children to nunneries and seminaries for fear of having them abused and worse, ingraining in them a system of sexual abuse.
