Review of Me Without You (2001) by Trudie S — 24 Dec 2003
My first post! Ok, I love this movie. I saw it for the second time tonight after I bought it on sale at blockbuster and I immediately want to watch it again. I know I am a person who would never turn down a good chick flick, but this movie is so much more than a stereotypical film.
It's set in England, which is a country I want to visit again and I love, and it is centered around two best friends. The viewer think that this is going to be another best friends forever film, but it goes down a darkened path and turns into a dark romantic drama. Michelle Williams, most often noted for her role on Dawson's creek, is actually really good , as is Anna Friel. Oliver Milburn , who plays Nat, is one of the most attractive people I have seen in a movie, so that adds to the film immensely!
The only criticism I would have of the movie is the camera work. Sometimes it comes off as jaunty, especially in the scene after the first 'hard drugs' party. It's also frequently difficult to hear the dialogue in the film, which I attribute to bad sound direction. Other than that, I love this movie and recommend it to everyone.
