Review of Me, Myself & Irene (2000) by Patrick H — 17 Jun 2009
The biggest problem with this film is that the Farrelly brothers are far too aware of the impact of their previous masterpiece, "There's Something About Mary". All of the gross out gags and the outrageous plot seemed designed to top the previous film, making them obvious, not shocking, and Renee Zellwegger is a good actress, for the most part, but not good at comedy.
Carrey's usual inspired antics can't rise this film above the level of mediocre.
