Review of Me, Myself & Irene (2000) by Tyler M — 31 Mar 2012
Just kill me, myself and I right now.
Yet another Jim Carrey film that fails to impress...Seriously, it's not good...
The Story: A push-over cop developes a split personality when he finally gets fed up with life, he meets a woman and the two of them end up on the run from the law. Along the way the two of them meet a lively set of characters...Well pretty much only one other character, an albino kid with a questionable past. It's standard Jim Carrey stuff here as he battles his good side and his bad side. If your a fan than this film probably moves along pretty fast...If you're not a fan than it moves along just a little bit faster than a snail. It's chalk full of raunchy, juvenille humor to the most extreme. Some jokes are funny others aren't.
The Cast: Jim Carrey, Renee Zellweger...These two are mediocre...Renee Zellweger while great in other films could easily be replaced by numerous other actresses. She's not really too unique here. Like the jokes, sometimes she's good, and sometimes she's not. Jim Carrey does what he's known for, the crazy goofy physical comedy. And like I said, it's all standard stuff, nothing too incredibly new or different from other films. The rest of the cast is about as memorable as a...Well I forgot what they're about as memorable as...So to say the least this is fogettable cast.
One to Five Scale: 2.
There's a few good moments but not enough to warrant a 3, this isn't even a high 2, it's barely more than a one... If you like jokes involving injured cows, and chickens meeting up with someones ass, than you might be interested... But for the rest of us, just skip it and watch something else... Just about anything would be better than wasting 2 hours of time here...
Tyler.
