Review of Me, Myself & Irene (2000) by Brian C — 18 Apr 2012
An uneven mess that entertains in fits and starts but never really gets rolling. Too much time is spent on a boring crime plot, and many of the jokes feel like desperate afterthoughts. It often feels like they wrote the script, forgot to include jokes, and tried to weave them in at the last minute rather than write the script from scratch, which they should have done.
It also feels a little too mean at times. That said, Jim Carrey does an excellent job with what he's given and his character of Hank is often very funny. If you like Jim, this is worth seeing, though it's far from his best.
