Review of Me, Myself & Irene (2000) by Jake D — 05 Jun 2011
Not being Carrey's best film it still is a funny film. Jim Carrey really proves why he is one of the kings of comedic actors in this film from the way he deals with having three black sons to switching personalities in the blink of an eye, all the way to calling Renée Zellweger a Pussy Fart and keeping a strait face just shows you why so many people love his comedy.
As far as the film itself goes sure it is a bit stupid, and Jim Carrey's sons are basically the same age as him, but the relationships don't feel forced in any way. Not only does his character suffer from Multiple Personality disorder, but they decided to tack on some type of crime story to it as well. I think that the Bounty Hunter with Gerard Butler, and Jennifer Aniston ripped this off in some way, but I have no proof. Anyways it isn't a great film, but it does have some pretty funny moments.
