I understand why the critic made that statement, but I believe all that 'clumsiness' was part of the storyline as the girl wanted to cover up all the sadness and pretend as if it wasn't happening.
This show is a very well made show and displays how life can be depressing or enjoyable. I could recommend anyone who appreciates a good not-really-fiction romance film to watch this.
