Review of Me Before You (2016) by Gillian M — 06 Jun 2016
What a lovely but of course very sad film (take tissues) This stayed very true to the book and I loved that, it helped that Jojo Moyes was involved. I absolutely love the book, so that is still the best adaptation of the story, but the film did a great job of bringing the characters and settings to visual life.
The acting was brilliant from all but especially Sam Claflin. Emilia was great too but her overly expressive eyebrows did distract me from her character a tiny bit. she is definitely the complete opposite of Deanerys in this film.
My only slight grumble is that certain things were obviously taken out for pacing reasons but it did change certain storylines and how you felt towards those characters but this wasn't enough to stop my enjoyment of the film.
