Watching romantic movies are really an exercise in waiting for what we all know is going to happen. They meet, they don't hit it off, they finally hit it off, then complications arise and things will or won't work out.
The waiting gets frustrating, especially with this movie. The only saving grace is the lively and energetic performance by Emilia Clarke, whose take on the Manic Pixie Dream Girl is one that isn't sociopathic.
