Review of Me and You and Everyone We Know (2005) by Ben B — 10 Jan 2010
This film is exactly what an independent film should be. It's artsy but not pretentious, daring but not too offensive, and sophisticated yet almost naive in it's narrow-minded view of the world.
I hadn't laughed out loud while watching a movie in a long time. Although the film is at times a bit meandering, writer/director/starring actress, Miranda July, deals with fascinating subjects in such a fresh and quirky way.
My favourite performance was by 'Robby' (Brandon Ratcliff). Be warned, it has some very disturbing and awkward moments with underaged teens, but the laughs make up for it.
