Review of Me and Orson Welles (2008) by David M — 04 Oct 2010
See this movie for one reason, Christian McKay as Orson Welles, who happens to be one of my heroes. He is so amazing, evertime he pops up, he completely takes over the scene and the entire movie, leaving it shambles as he exits.
He is a powerful and intimidating force, and force is the right word, as he powers the movie single handedly. Claire Danes is charming, but turns out as an unlikable character, and Zac Efron is only there so this isnt an Orson welles movie, which frankly, you'll wish it was.
The love story is sort of interesting, but lacks the soul that Linklater showed he was capable of in Before Sunrise/set. See Christian McKay be one of the greatest actors who ever lived.
