Anti-TFiOS.

Me and Earl and the Dying Girl is inspiring and delightful, the type of film that will cheer (or tear) you up on a rainy day. It is filled with hysterical jokes and loveable characters and is the perfect film for people who are currently finding their way through high school. The three main characters are types of people who you would find (and want to be friends with) in high school, and that makes the film feel natural and organic, making it better than it already was. It's script was great. The actors are faces the Hollywood should look out for. The director is also in that category. The cinematography is beautifully shot and the score is great. Everything adds up to something unique, weird, and ultimately charming.

Negatives are not very numerous. There are flaws, like the fact that some of the movie feels "too indie" at times. There are also emotional or comedic scenes that seemed forced, but it doesn't matter when the movie is filled with so much talent.

This film is special and anyone who sees it will automatically know it. The cast is great, and the crew behind the scenes are top notch. This was the first limited release independent film that have ever seen in the theater, and it is largely deserving of that title. I love it because this is not a love story, it is a story about friendship, and nothing is more special than that.

Rating: 8.3 (A-).
