Review of Me and Earl and the Dying Girl (2015) by Cornelia B — 28 Jun 2015
If the teen high school movie genre was an animal, Sarah McLachlan would be in an infomercial pleading for its savior. In recent years, the genre that was once a versatile vehicle for entertainment and nostalgia has been disappearing from our theaters.
Me & Earl & the Dying Girl is a long overdue, genuinely enjoyable high school comedy for the new generation of young adults. Witty, sensitive, and beautifully filmed, here's to bringing the charm back in coming of age films.
Bonus points for the stellar film references.
