This movie could have been absolutely atrocious to me if it went down a certain path. But it did not, and because of it, you're left with a unique spin on the coming of age tale of an awkward, heavily neutral teenager and his friendship with a dying girl.
A very solid cast, drizzled with a touching soundtrack. This film tugged at the old heartstrings and played a melodramatic teen tune a la Juno. And that isn't at all a bad thing.
