Review of Me and Earl and the Dying Girl (2015) by Luke E — 12 Sep 2015
Me and Earl and the Dying Girl is a wonderful film full of heart and wonder and warm humour. Even if the story isn't totally original the approach is. It's a three piece with two best friends who are outsiders befriending a girl, Rachel, who is dying.
But the film deals with it in the best way, with nuance and humour and grace. It is oddly strange and yet quite revealing about humanity. It could have fallen into cliche but the fresh approach, clever script and great performances give us a small budget film that is the total package.
