Review of McQueen (2018) by Rob Z — 03 Aug 2018
The documentary attempts to offer a narrative of McQueen's entire career from his family (sister), mentors, partners, friends and colleagues' perspectives. But I feel it is one that the audience is already familiar with and it left me wanting more.
The interview purposefully (I wonder why) avoided the succeeding creative director Sarah Burton, who was appointed head of Alexander McQueen women's wear in 2000 and had been his right hand person for over a decade before his death.
I remember being awed by McQueen's talent at the Met exhibit a few years ago and I think you will be as well after seeing this movie.
