I'm not much of a John Wayne fan as I don't really idolize movie stars, living or dead. But this movie has always appeared on TV. & after a few viewings, I grew to like it & look past the "fair for its day" unpleasantries like the stereotypical Asian.
It's a good western & comedy. And The Duke has a commanding performance. This, along w/ "The Quiet Man" & "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence" which I also discovered on TV, is a good film to attract new John Wayne fans.
