If grit and unpleasant realism is your schtick, you may not enjoy this as much as I did. It was more than just a down and out coach transforms the hopeless into champions feel goodie. We've seen just that dozens of times.
These characters are more in depth with a more realistic blend of schmaltz. The story behind many of America's American immigrants is enlightening and uplifting. And of course, there's Costner at his best and a healthy dose of feel good!
