Review of McFarland, USA (2015) by Movie R — 27 Mar 2015
McFarland, USA tells the true story of a coach who moves to a small town to take a job after losing his previous one. There a lot of Hispanics in this town and must adapt to the culture. But along with that, he learns of their hard work ethic.
The kids help out in the field before and after school. They also do a lot of running. Kevin Costner does a great job as Mr. White who organizes a cross country team and helps these kids become the best they can be.
The movie could have been a tad shorter and it is a pretty by-the-numbers inspirational sports movie. But it still does a great job offering heartfelt moments and lots of laughs. I give it 4/5.
