I remember seeing this years ago when I was eight or nine years old. Oddly, I can still remember it.
Basically, the message of the movie is if you play D&D you will lose touch with reality, be thrown into a loony bin and start living in a fantasy world the rest of your life. If they made this movie today, it would probably be based on people playing video games and going insane or something.
