Review of Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials (2015) by Dann M — 17 Oct 2015
It's out of the frying pan and into the fire for the survivors if the Maze in The Scorch Trails, the thrilling sequel to The Maze Runner. Thomas and his friends find themselves in peril once again when their would-be rescuers turn out to be another branch of WCKD; leading them to flee into the hostel desert wasteland known as the Scorch.
Loosely adapted from the novel, the tone is especially gritty and apocalyptic. Also, the action sequences are intense and exciting. However, the characters are pretty one-dimensional and there's not the same sense of mystery as there was with the first film.
The Scorch Trails is a weaker entry in this series, but it still delivers an entertaining adventure.
