There's not a lot of plot development going on here, and the movie is one extended chase. It's not a bad one though. As far as this being unfaithful to the source material goes, I haven't read the books.
So I'm not beholden to a narrative expectation. As a movie it's satisfying enough, if not groundbreaking.
