Review of Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials (2015) by Kyal92 — 10 Oct 2015
It was an enjoyable film overall. Great action (when it happened) and solid acting. However, there were some problems with it that seemed easily avoidable. For instance, there was a crazy amount of pointless in between moments of the characters walking through the desert.
We got it in the first ten minutes of these scenes. It's a long journey, they're tired, there's bad conditions.... speed it up please. And it's not like there was any important dialogue going on either.
Just a mention that the main character was the reason for all this bad but it wasn't elaborated on by the girl. The viewer then knew of course that it would be brought up later in a big plot twist....
blegh. Then the dumbness of the characters which was frustrating. In the first movie we were under the impression they were very smart, then all of a sudden they're talking loudly and banging things around zombies.
.. really? And that scene where they are underground and they are talking where it is echoing with the flashlights... I kinda wanted the zombies to eat them. But. It's a good series. And the first movie was excellent.
Hopefully they get it together for the next one. I still give it an 8 because the action scenes were great and everything besides what I mentioned was highly entertaining. It deserves a higher overall score then what is on here.
