Review of Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials (2015) by Hank M — 23 Oct 2015
I liked this movie for the reason most critics hate the movie: the genre change. It felt somewhat fresh...but missing a few pieces. So, before I spoil the movie, I'll say that I give the movie a 74%.
---------------------------------------------.
So, to start off, the final act, amazing. But, to be somewhat nit picky, ill say that what happened to Mihno, Teresa, and Brenda wasn't satisfactory. I could go on, though. They cut out what were some of my favorite parts of the movie and added in the first part of the third book as the beginning of this movie somewhat. But as I said, the final act was amazing. It made it lead to the third movie in a new way. This whole movie was the same way. It wasn't loyal to the book(almost at all) but the movie was very enjoyable, nonetheless. It was creative, and still sewed in some of the plot points. The first was better than this. I had took 2 stars away from the new back stories and new parts to the movie, but the final act brought together 1 star. I would recommend this movie to anybody who's looking for a good movie or a fan of the series. I look forward to the Death Cure, and hope to see the movie again some time soon.
