Review of Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials (2015) by Mattias A — 23 May 2017
While the movie is never dull due to some fast paced action scenes, it is a much lesser sequel. I feel it is primarily a setup movie in which not a lot happens. Almost none of the questions raised are answered and I was pretty confused by a lot of things.
It doesn't do a good job of being easy to understand for those who, like myself, have not read the book. I think it's target audiences can find enjoyment in it, but as a whole, it is a lot of action without any real stakes of mystery.
I enjoyed the final twenty minutes or so when this movie finally started moving forward but then of course it ends and just leaves you waiting for the next one. I really feel that you don't need to see this movie if and until they release the final movie because it is mostly just filler that doesn't progress the story.
