Review of Maze Runner: The Death Cure (2018) by Thomas T — 15 Feb 2018
This movie did pretty much everything someone who watched the first two Maze Runner films may have wanted.
It was tragic, hopeful, sympathetic, vengeful, action-packed, and thoughtful all rolled into one.
Thomas, the other survivors of the Maze, and the other members of The Right Arm continue from the end of The Scorch Trials to rescue those captured at their base and stop WICKED from collecting all the immunes for comatose extraction.
Although there is some fatigue for the teen dystopia genre, the movie is one of the better finales to these series that I have seen.
The Maze Runner isn't everyone's thing, and I get that. But if you enjoyed either of the first two (especially The Scorch Trials), you will definitely like this film as well.
If I had to complain, Aidan Gillan's Janson and Walter Goggin's Lawrence could have potentially used more character development or backstory to better explain their characters' actions and motivations.
