Review of Maze Runner: The Death Cure (2018) by Brian P — 07 Feb 2018
First there was The Hunger Games, then Divergent and then we have The Maze Runner series. All three about adults sticking it to the youth in a future that doesn't look too hot for our world. Thankfully, this final edition of The Maze Runner: Death Cure appears to be the last of this kind of film for a while.
There's plenty to like in this film and even the series. It's not as good as The Hunger Games series, but way better then Divergent. This third chapter is better then the second, but not as good as the original.
It lists the running time at 114 minutes, but I think it was more like 130 and should've been 100 tops. I mean how many crazy explosions and building implosions do you need anyway? What's crazy is that I had trouble remembering what even happened in the second film (or the first), so I was playing some catch-up.
If you liked the books or the first two, I'd say this will bring adequate closure. If not, I'd say stay away.
