Review of Maze Runner: The Death Cure (2018) by Vincent C — 04 Feb 2018
I would like to say that Death Cure is the best of Maze Runner franchise. The producers have a tight grip on the tone, which make this 2-hour long movie breathtaking and thrilling. The actions are well deployed through the movie to keep me engaged, and some touching points did make me sob.
I didn't read the original novel, so I didn't expect the death of some characters, making this movie stay away from the cliche. And it also reveals some ethical grey area. What Thomas and his rebel team did is righteous - to save those innocent kids from the evil experiments, but what evil side - those "elite" class did was not completely unreasonable, to save the future.
Teresa made a choice at the end to help achieve both goals. What a balance. This kind of ethical conflict reminds me of the American Captain: Civil War, and other things in the real world. This is a moving worthy of watching second time!
